I guess I missed the peak of this whole unsourced music deal.

Regardless, I’d like to come out here and say that Clark Powell and a good deal of other members of the Homestuck music team are good friends of mine, and are all young musicians trying very hard to make their way in a world that is not friendly to musicians. I know firsthand that it is surprisingly difficult to convince a large group of people to take time out of their day to press that little “play” button and give your music a chance. Harder, still, is it to amass over 45,000 Tumblr notes on a piece of original music, which is a fact that is frustrating to many.

Unfortunately, the majority of the Homestuck music team exists in a strange sort of ether, where an overwhelming amount of the fanbase is not even aware of their internet presences. Saddeningly often do I see posts by fans of official Homestuck music with tens of thousands of notes, sourced only to the comic’s Bandcamp page. Meanwhile, team members like my incredibly talented best friend Jeremy “Solatrus” Iamurri (of “Frost" and "Derse Dreamers" fame) struggle to gain more than a few notes on any given Tumblr post at any given time of the day.

Here’s a list of links to all of the Homestuck music team members on Tumblr. Please check out their incredible work, and perhaps consider buying their music, or commissioning them!

Found this great video of our performance of Walk-Stab-Walk last year!

headcanon about three in the morning: hearts boxcars tries to end the song with a bass note but slick has to get the final word

One of these days I’m just going to go and buy all my friends’ original albums.

This includes but is not limited to Thomas Ferkol, William Ascenzo, Clark Powell, Tyler Dever, Robert J! Lake, and Mai Yishan.

You should give their albums a listen so I don’t feel bad for not buying all of them in one fell swoop.

Be jealous, Clark. We have chips.

This ended up being the only good shot of Clark that I haven’t already used in another photoset.
